SEW: Doing a Web Content Inventory
Posted May 9th, 2011 by Patricia L Lafranier
A content inventory helps you assess the web content you have and need on your website, and is a critical step for moving your content into the new university web design and web content management system. By completing a content inventory, you can plan the structure and flow of information in a way that will make your site easier for your visitors to use - now and in the future.
A content inventory is best completed by those who have the most in-depth understanding of the existing or planned content for the website. This will typically be the people involved in any redesign, building, or maintenance of the site.
Please join us for a look at the Excel spreadsheet that is available to help you structure your findings, and some tips on how to get through it.
