Posted December 12th, 2008 by Anonymous
The Web Advisory committee (WAC) met again on Wednesday, December 10th. The bulk of this meeting was taken up with a discussion of the current IT Task Force. Associate Provost, Information Systems and Technology Alan George and (regular WAC member) Associate Vice-President, Academic Geoff MacBoyle from the task force joined the meeting.
Many issues were raised from the group, ranging from the quality of wireless (good) and web-based email services (not-so-good) to inconsistencies in website design and development across campus. Poor communication was identified as a barrier to better consistency and efficiency.
Following this discussion there was as short update from the WCMS project leads. The Needs Assessment team has completed 4 focus groups and surveys of 5 audience groups. The next step is to being to analyse this data and move towards a WCMS needs specification.
The tech team saw a webinar on Drupal and a live presentation from RedDot on Friday, December 5th. They will see an online presentation from Hannon Hill (Cascade Server) on the 12th.
